Introducing Yaz, a versatile contraceptive pill that not only prevents pregnancy but also effectively addresses hormone-related issues, including acne. This unique formulation combines the essential hormones estrogen and progesterone to support a balanced reproductive system. Yaz is designed to help regulate menstrual cycles, minimize menstrual flow, and lower the likelihood of ovarian cysts.
Yaz is also recognized for alleviating the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in women seeking oral contraceptive solutions. However, it is important to note that its effectiveness for PMDD beyond three menstrual cycles has not been thoroughly evaluated.
According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-4th edition (DSM-IV), PMDD is characterized by significant mood disturbances, anxiety, mood swings, and irritability. Additional symptoms may include a diminished interest in daily activities, concentration difficulties, fatigue, appetite changes, and sleep disturbances. Physical manifestations can consist of breast tenderness, headaches, joint and muscle pain, bloating, and weight gain. These symptoms typically emerge during the luteal phase and tend to resolve within a few days after menstruation starts, often impacting daily life, work, and social interactions. Healthcare professionals diagnose PMDD by following DSM-IV guidelines and evaluating symptoms across at least two menstrual cycles while ruling out other cyclical mood disorders.
It?s important to note that Yaz has not been investigated for treating premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Dosage Instructions: For maximum effectiveness, take one Yaz tablet daily at the same time. Skipping doses or incorrect usage may increase the risk of contraceptive failure. To ensure optimal benefits for both contraception and PMDD management, adhere closely to the instructions provided on the blister pack. If a tablet is missed, take it as soon as you remember.
Starting Yaz: Begin taking Yaz either on the first day of your menstrual period (Day 1 Start) or on the first Sunday after the onset of your menstrual period (Sunday Start).
